Countertops & Work Surfaces

For resistance to scratches, extreme temperatures, and most chemicals, nothing beats Granite, and that's the most common material for work surfaces.  For beauty and other colors, marble, onyx and quartzite are sometimes selected.

Reception Countertop by Design Stone - Image
Three levels, and multiple tricy bends and turns.  This would have been difficult in Wood!  Think about the issues in Granite!  This reception-area countertop is in a ReMax Realty office in Southgate, Michigan.
 Cooking Island
Here's a fine example of a granite island countertop cooking center.  Ideal for placement of hot dishes or pans, as well as cutting and easy cleanup.
 Bar Image
This Bar is another example of a work surface made of durable granite.  Notice also the granite flooring.  It speaks of easy cleaning and durability.
Kitchen Island Countertop
This island is ready to work.  Plenty of under-counter storage with our favorite granite top.  Notice the graceful arc of each side, and the rounded edges.
 Curved Granite Island Countertop
This Island countertop in Granite, has straight sections, a large arc, and cutout or notched elements.
 Wetbar with Black Granite Countertop
This wet bar features cherry-stained cabinetry and a black granite countertop.
Design Stone White Marble Wet Bar
This white Marble wet-bar would also make a nice vanity.  As you can see, Design Stone is usually involved in the middle of a renovation, and we have to get a lot of our photos before the entire job is complete.  This little "Niche Bar" will be much more attractive once it is fully trimmed out by the other craftsmen.
